Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced EIC Engineer III to lead the electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation scope across complex technical projects. This role drives system design from initial concept through detailed engineering, equipment procurement, PLC/HMI programming, and hands‑on commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical & Power Engineering: Develop power system designs, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), ETAP power system models, physical layouts, and circuit/conduit schedules.
- Instrumentation & Controls: Create and maintain instrument lists, I/O lists, loop sheets, and wiring diagrams; incorporate vendor data into comprehensive engineering packages.
- Automation & Programming: Design, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems, including hands‑on programming and configuration of PLCs, HMIs, and associated automation platforms.
- Procurement & Contractor Packages: Author equipment specifications, Material Take-Offs (MTOs), Request for Proposal/Quote (RFQ) packages, and contractor scopes of work.
- Project Leadership & Coordination: Serve as the primary decision‑maker for electrical scope, aligning cross‑functional project teams, clients, and vendors with applicable industry standards.
- Testing & Commissioning: Lead and support commissioning activities in the shop and on‑site to ensure full Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) validation.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET‑accredited program preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of progressive, varied experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control systems engineering.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred, or the clear ability to obtain licensure within 1 year of hire.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with power modeling software (ETAP or equivalent), electrical schematics/layouts, and direct experience programming industrial PLCs/HMIs. - Field Readiness: Ability and willingness to support hands‑on testing, shop verification, and on‑site commissioning.
