Story Land - Sales & Marketing Events Supervisor

The Sales & Marketing Events Supervisor manages all facets of coordinating and executing events and activations sold and developed by the Sales & Marketing teams at Story Land and Living Shores Aquarium. The position ensures successful execution of events that leave a favorable lasting impression on guests and the community.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Sales and Events team and any other assigned departments.
  • Lead by example, demonstrate attitude, and represent Herschend’s core values.
  • Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members.
  • Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all assigned sales and/or marketing positions and backfill these positions when needed.
  • Participate in all aspects of supervision, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.
  • Ensure required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with New Hampshire law.
  • Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities.
  • Manage event & activation operations for scheduled in‑park events at Story Land and Living Shores.
  • Enforce all park policies, procedures, and maintain company standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with park operations teams for pre‑day, day‑of, and post‑event execution.
  • Maintain the Park event calendar, ensuring data accuracy and making necessary adjustments.
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously, making last‑minute adjustments as required.
  • Represent the marketing and sales division by becoming knowledgeable of all events occurring at the park(s).
  • Actively participate in sales development and event booking during non‑event days and peak windows.
  • Proactively address issues and troubleshoot emerging problems during all events.
  • Act as the on‑site contact to clients and guests for all aspects of their events.
  • Conduct pre and post‑event evaluations, report feedback and outcomes to marketing and sales leadership.
  • Ensure all events are executed to the specifications and standards set by the company.
  • Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; equivalent work experience considered.
  • 1–2 years of related sales or marketing experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus.
  • Previous amusement park, theme park, or waterpark experience a plus.
Language Requirements
  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English.
  • Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age to comply with NH Child Labor Laws.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional close.
  • Exceptional customer service skills; ability to resolve questions, problems, and concerns positively and professionally.
  • Ability to handle high‑pressure situations, meet constant deadlines, and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating directly with customers.
  • Strong desire to deliver high‑quality group events that exceed client expectations.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • General financial acumen highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of office technology and equipment (PC, software, copier, telephone).
  • Ability to follow direction, multi‑task, work as part of a team, and independently.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while using a computer.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for long periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily offices with frequent interaction at outdoor park locations.
  • Frequent exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, including heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and ice.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments.
