Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Are you looking to launch or grow your career in accounting? Merchants Fleet is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in financial reporting, cash reconciliation, and process improvements, while collaborating across departments to support the company’s financial health.

Location: Merchants Fleet Headquarters (Hybrid)

• Ensure accurate documentation and integrity of financial transactions
• Manage daily cash reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
• Support month‑end close and financial reporting, including account analysis and reconciliations
• Provide audit support and prepare schedules for annual financial audits
• Assist with cashflow forecasting and treasury‑related reporting
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Work with large data sets and system integrations to ensure accurate financial results

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA a plus)
• 0–3 years of experience in public or private accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP (Lease Accounting experience a plus)

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• A fast learner with intellectual curiosity and a can‑do attitude
• Comfortable working independently and with large data sets
• Experience with Great Plains Dynamics, Adra, Planful, Dataserv, or SQL a plus
