Director of Finance

Overview

KBW has partnered with a well-established nonprofit organization seeking a Controller or Director of Finance (depending on experience) to lead its accounting and finance function. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, partnering with executive leadership to support the organization's long-term financial health and strategic objectives.

• Lead all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, payroll oversight, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash management.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, annual budgets, forecasts, and Board reporting materials.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, government funding regulations, and internal policies.
• Manage the annual audit, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee Medicaid billing, reimbursement, grant reporting, and other funding-related financial activities.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-range financial planning.
• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, organizational initiatives, and key financial decisions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• More than ten years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within a nonprofit or healthcare environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
