Are you passionate about building relationships and helping businesses succeed? Join our team as a Commercial Loan Officer based out of our newest location in North Conway, NH.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in helping local businesses grow by building trusted relationships and delivering customized lending solutions.

Through your strong community connections, you’ll develop and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, partnering with both existing and prospective customers and centers of influence, to understand their financial goals, provide thoughtful guidance and identify new opportunities while strengthening existing relationships. You’ll also ensure your portfolio remains compliant with regulatory and Bank policy requirements while connecting customers with products and services using a needs-based approach.

Key Pieces of the Position:

  • Interviews commercial loan applicants and evaluates the viability of requests by identifying and collecting appropriate data necessitated for standard loan underwriting procedures to determine risk and profitability factors.
  • Evaluates credit analyses while concurrently considering customer needs and other risk and regulatory factors prior to determining loan decision and negotiating terms.
  • Determines the extent to which additional investigations are necessary for existing customers and new business prospects.
  • Determines loan decisions within lending authority and/or recommends and presents loans for approval to appropriate approval authority including the Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors.
  • Negotiates loan terms and conditions, as required.
  • Prepares and approves line of credit renewals and extensions of matured notes.
  • Enhances existing customer relationships by providing consistently excellent service.
  • Reviews and monitors portfolio credit quality including but not limited to: initiating collection efforts, downgrading problem loans, along with constructing exit strategies when necessary.
  • Provides policy and credit quality input to appropriate commercial personnel/committees.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge on bank products and services by engaging in cross-selling on a needs-based approach.
  • Participates in new business and community development activities while representing the bank at various business and/or community events as requested to enhance bank visibility.
  • Serves as voting member of Loan Committee as requested.
  • Understanding of standard commercial loan documentation.
  • Demonstrates understanding of commercial loan documentation along with possessing the ability to fully underwriter and analyst loan requests as necessary.
  • Performs ongoing file updates, maintenance and organization.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • College degree with preferred emphasis in business or accounting.
  • Solid foundation in credit skills, finance and accounting.
  • Top notch business development abilities
  • Possesses computer competencies (Microsoft Excel and Word, along with other bank specific platforms and programs).
  • The following characteristics are highly desirable in this position:
    Self-motivation, flexibility, ability to prioritize, high degree of time management skill, strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, strong negotiating skills, and excellent customer servicing abilities. In addition, the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities fluently is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrates consistently reliable transportation to and from client meetings, community engagement events, and other off-site business related activities.
