About Benson Wealth Management

Benson Wealth Management is a boutique, independent wealth advisory firm specializing in private family wealth and entrepreneur / business owner clients. We advise a select group of clients across the full lifecycle of wealth, including:

  • Comprehensive financial and investment planning
  • Exit planning support for business owners
  • Investment banking and liquidity event support
  • Post-liquidity and multigenerational wealth management

As a boutique firm, we emphasize depth over volume, long-term relationships, and highly customized advice. Our clients are often business owners navigating complexity, concentration risk, and major financial transitions. We collaborate closely with CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals to deliver integrated, thoughtful advice.

Role Overview

The Associate Advisor will work directly with the firm’s lead advisor to support portfolio management, investment analysis, and financial planning, while developing into a client-facing advisor over time. This role is ideal for someone early in their advisory career with strong quantitative and analytical skills, a background in finance or economics, and the interpersonal skills required to build trust with sophisticated clients.

Over time, this role is expected to evolve into one with greater client ownership, relationship responsibility, and business-development contribution, particularly with entrepreneurs and private families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with portfolio construction, asset allocation, and rebalancing
  • Analyze portfolio risk, performance, and diversification
  • Prepare portfolio analytics, scenario modeling, and investment exhibits for client meetings
  • Support implementation of investment strategies across taxable and tax-advantaged accounts
  • Monitor markets and assist with investment research and internal commentary
Financial Planning & Analytical Support
  • Assist with financial planning analysis, including retirement projections, cash flow modeling, and tax-aware planning
  • Support planning related to liquidity events, concentrated positions, and business exits
  • Evaluate planning trade-offs and help develop data-driven recommendations
Client Engagement & Relationship Development
  • Prepare analytical materials and summaries for client meetings
  • Attend client meetings and assist with follow-ups and implementation
  • Gradually assume responsibility for portions of client discussions
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients
  • Over time, develop the capacity to deepen existing client relationships and contribute to new client development through trust-based, long-term relationship building
Operations & Execution
  • Support account implementation, rebalancing, and custodial workflows
  • Maintain accuracy of client data, assumptions, and planning inputs
  • Coordinate with custodians and outside professionals as needed
  • Research and source prospective business-owner clients who fit the firm’s target profile and maintain qualified prospect lists for advisor outreach
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills grounded in financial markets and portfolio theory
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and emotional intelligence
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Preferred
  • CFP® coursework started or planned
  • 0–3 years of experience in wealth management, investments, or financial analysis
  • Familiarity with portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment analytics
  • Experience with financial planning or portfolio management software
  • Interest in long‑term relationship‑based business development with entrepreneurs and business owners
  • Series 7 and Series 65/66
  • Base salary range: $60,000+, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Performance-based bonus potential
  • Direct mentorship from an experienced advisor
  • Health benefits and paid time off (if applicable)
