Position Summary
Regional Services & Education Center, Inc. is seeking a full-time detail-oriented and experienced Financial Director to oversee the organization’s financial operations. The
Financial Director will provide thoughtful leadership in financial planning, reporting, compliance, and administration while ensuring that financial processes are accurate, timely, and aligned with the organization’s mission.
This position will manage and coordinate key financial functions, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget development, audit preparation, rate-setting submissions, and other financial activities. The successful candidate will be organized, analytical, collaborative, and committed to supporting a nonprofit educational organization.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the organization’s day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, timely
processing of financial transactions.
Manage payroll processes, including payroll preparation, review, reporting, and
coordination with relevant staff and vendors.
Direct accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment tracking, account
reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding balances.

Develop, monitor, and maintain organizational and departmental budgets in collaboration with leadership and program administrators.
Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for organizational leadership

Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenditures, and financial performance to support sound

Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable nonprofit requirements.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, reporting requirements, funding guidelines, and organizational policies.
Collaborate with program, administrative, and human resources staff to address financial questions and support effective operations.
Communicate financial information clearly to individuals with varying levels of financial expertise.
Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, procedures, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Support grant reporting, funding documentation, and other financial submissions as needed.
Perform other financial and administrative responsibilities consistent with the needs of the organization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Relevant professional experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a
nonprofit, education, health and human services, or child care organization.
Demonstrated experience managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable,
budgeting, and financial reporting.
Experience coordinating annual audits and preparing supporting schedules and
documentation.
