Recreation/Activity Coordinator

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and energetic Recreation/Activity Coordinator to design and lead innovative programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with older adults, has a flair for creativity, and thrives when given the freedom to develop new ideas and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement a variety of engaging activities for residents in Memory Care and Assisted Living.
  • Organize special events, outings, music programs, holiday celebrations, and birthday parties.
  • Encourage resident participation through personalized and group-based programming.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, promoting socialization and well-being.
  • Independently assess resident interests and needs to continually improve programming.
  • Stay current on best practices in senior recreation, enrichment, and dementia-friendly programming.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with older adults; previous experience in Memory Care or with cognitive impairment is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or recreation-specific training preferred.
  • LNA license preferred, but willing to train the right person.
  • Strong creativity, initiative, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about resident engagement.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid driver's license for community outings preferred.
