We are looking to add a House Attendant (Houseperson) to our team. The House Attendant is the ultimate support team member for Room Attendants and the Housekeeping Department. This role ensures guest rooms, public areas, and service areas are clean, organized, stocked, and operating smoothly. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, physically active, and committed to providing warm, professional service to every guest.

Position Summary

Performs a combination of tasks to maintain guest rooms, hallways, public spaces, and housekeeping service areas in a clean, orderly, and well-stocked condition. Demonstrates a professional, friendly, warm, and welcoming demeanor to all guests and fellow team members at all times.

Responsibilities Guest Room & Floor Support
  • Support Room Attendants by stripping beds, removing soiled linen, replacing clean linen, and emptying trash.
  • Collect and transport soiled linen to designated laundry areas.
  • Deliver clean linen to floor storage rooms and maintain par levels.
  • Restock guest amenities and housekeeping supplies in closets and service areas.
  • Assist with heavy lifting, special projects, mattress turning, furniture moving, and deep cleaning tasks.
  • Deliver guest-requested items such as rollaway beds, cribs, extra linens, and amenities.
  • Ensure hallways remain vacuumed, clear of debris, and presentable at all times.
  • Dust light fixtures, woodwork, entrance doorways, and hallway surfaces daily.
  • Strip out checkout rooms as assigned.
  • Report missing items, found articles, damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards immediately.
Public Areas & General Cleaning
  • Clean and maintain hotel public areas including hallways, lobbies, meeting rooms, elevator landings, vending areas, and restrooms.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and polish floors.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using proper equipment.
  • Wash walls and other surfaces as assigned.
  • Remove trash and debris from interior and exterior service areas.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean and organized manner.
  • Store incoming supplies in proper locations and keep storage areas neat and orderly.
Guest Service & Teamwork
  • Greet guests warmly with a smile and professional demeanor.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
  • Work collaboratively with Room Attendants, Supervisors, and other departments.
  • Make whereabouts known to Floor Supervisor and remain on assigned floors unless reassigned.
  • Follow all housekeeping standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping or Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Previous hotel housekeeping or houseperson experience preferred.
  • Experience with or working knowledge of HotSOS (hotel service optimization system) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull carts and equipment.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in guest rooms, hallways, and public areas.
  • Schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fast-paced hospitality environment.
