Position Overview:

HR Director

As a member of the leadership team, the HR Director leads and directs the human resources function across all Company locations, ensuring alignment between HR strategy and overall business objectives. This role oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, training and development, and organizational culture initiatives within a multi-site wholesale distribution environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership presence, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic HR planning with hands-on, day-to-day execution that will allow the organization to scale operations for future growth.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Partners with senior leadership to define and execute long-term strategic goals through talent management.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational structure and workforce planning.
  • Develops and administrates the department's annual budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develops and implements internal growth programs and leadership training and development initiatives.
  • Manages Coastal's talent acquisition process (recruitment, interview, hiring and onboarding process).
  • Ensures departmental decisions (staffing, acquisitions, etc.) align with the talent acquisition plan.
  • Develops and implements competitive compensation, benefits, and performance appraisal plans.
  • Ensures compliance with all employment, benefits, regulations and applicable state laws (DOL, FMLA, etc).
  • Maintains / updates handbooks, policies, and procedures in accordance with evolving legal requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of employment law best practices, human resources and talent management.
  • Manages the accommodation process, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate business processes, provide data and report on HR activity.
  • Evaluates and implements improvement opportunities to streamline / strengthen organizational processes.
  • Analyzes trends and develops strategies to resolve HR issues and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
  • Manages HR / Talent Management KPI's to assess Coastal's success and market competitiveness.
  • Consistently presents HR KPI reports and makes recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  • Supports Managers with coaching on performance management, conflict resolution / disciplinary actions.
  • Represents Coastal in a professional manner and builds collaborative relationships, internally and externally.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
  • 7-10 years relevant industry experience with progressive leadership responsibility in HR
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, detail-oriented
  • Expertise in planning, developing and implementing HR strategies
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Exceptional leadership and collaborative skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate potential issues
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States
Physical Conditions
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
Schedule & Location
  • 100% on-site in Bow, NH
  • Monday-Friday, business hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
