Human Resources Generalist

The position is a Group 1 position in the NHRS pension system.

The Town of Exeter is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to perform essential HR functions across multiple departments. Key responsibilities include processing accurate time entry for payroll, serving as the primary contact for employee on-boarding and benefit programs, assisting with recruitment, and updating employee records and the human resources website. The successful candidate will also manage the MUNIS HR software program.

Ideal applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills, high accuracy and attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive situations.

Required education level of an associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Five or more years of experience in a human resources setting or a combination of education and experience in a related field. Municipal HR experience preferred. Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel required. Experience with MUNIS software and union contracts is a plus.

Grade 8 within the Town compensation plan. Excellent benefits package, including health insurance, FSA, 100% employer paid dental, sick time, personal time, and vacation time.
