A well-established nonprofit organization near Portsmouth, NH is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Executive Director to lead the organization's operations, programs, and growth. This individual will provide overall leadership, manage a team of up to 6 direct reports, and serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, funders, and the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction in alignment with the organization's mission and Board-approved goals
- Oversee day-to-day operations, programs, and staff performance across the organization
- Directly manage and mentor up to 6 direct reports across various functional areas
- Partner with the Board of Directors on strategic planning, governance, and reporting
- Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and community partnerships
- Develop and manage the annual budget; ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability
- Represent the organization publicly with funders, community partners, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, reporting requirements, and best practices
- Drive organizational growth, program development, and community impact initiatives
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-focused organizational culture
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field preferred - 5+ years of leadership experience, ideally within a nonprofit setting
- Proven experience managing teams and overseeing multiple functional areas
- Strong background in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation
- Budget management and financial oversight experience
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills
- Board governance experience strongly preferred
- Passion for the organization's mission and community impact
- Salary: $110,000-$120,000, based on experience
- Hybrid flexibility with primarily in-office presence
