The Manager, Planning is responsible for managing and supervising the Planning team. They are responsible for mentoring, training, and leading the Machine Planning and Production Control teams to create and maintain robust planning control processes and achievable plans. Activities shall support company strategic objectives and Master Build Plan requirements and actions support goal tree objectives of the company. This position requires 5-7 years of experience working in manufacturing supply chain, a thorough understanding of supply chain management concepts, and at least 2 years of experience managing people in Manufacturing or Supply Chain.
Besides being the escalation point for all of Planning, the Manager, Planning interfaces on a daily basis with various Director and Executive management team members across all of Operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage deadlines based on expectations.
- Ensure that MRP (Material Requirements Planning) signals are accurate, appropriate, and are fully compliant with internal policies and customer requirements. Ensure that Planning has the tools and training necessary to action MRP signals appropriately. Escalation point when questionable signals are discovered.
- Escalation point for Planners when lifecycle management decisions may result in major negative inventory or revenue impacts. Work with counterparts in various departments to devise solutions to minimize exposure.
- Prepare executive-friendly reports on production performance. Use data and reports to assist with optimizing the supply chain.
- Monitor the program(s) schedule performance, track plans, and perform schedule risk analyses. Report directly to upper management any major schedule risks and proposed mitigation.
- Provide training to Principle and Sr. Planners to prepare them for next steps in career ladder. Provide assistance and training to others within the Planning team on where to go for data and most efficient means of putting together analytics.
- Provide Oracle (ASCP) training and guidance to all other levels of Planners and Production Coordinators.
- Support and encourage all team-members to have a constant eye toward potential process improvements. Assist Planning team in getting process improvement ideas set into motion.
- Coach and mentor employees in a way that fosters two-way communication and will develop a best-in-class team. Develop the workgroup as a team, fostering a team environment of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Listen to the needs of employees, ensuring that all employees within the team have the tools or resources necessary to be successful.
- Engage in the performance management process, providing clear, timely, and constructive feedback to employees.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is in place for employment related concerns.
- Coordinate team training and development opportunities as needs are identified. Provide opportunities to grow the team's skillset and talents.
- Participate in the employee interview process. Identify and select the most highly skilled candidate for the team. Develop a successful onboarding plan for new talent that will successfully assimilate them into their role, and the organization.

- May identify, lead and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.
