Lead Mechanic – Equipment

Lead Mechanic – Equipment position at Pike Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of CRH and a leading Highway Contractor and largest producer of Hot Mix Asphalt and Construction Aggregates in New England. The role involves travel to field jobsites and shop work, scheduling, troubleshooting and maintaining heavy equipment.

• $30.00/hour or more depending on experience, with a $10.00/hour night shift differential
• Annual increase potential
• Company vehicle and gas card
• OT after 8 hours

• Travel in the field and jobsites and work in the shop as needed (CDL a plus)
• Plan work procedures (Scheduling) and/or possible solutions such as parts, PM service in conjunction with Equipment Manager
• Troubleshoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, pavers, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers.
• Examine equipment and discuss with superintendent, operator, or project manager the nature and extent of damage or malfunction
• Ensure engagement of equipment team in all safety best practices, ensure compliance with all company policies and safety rules. Conduct safety training and toolbox talks
• Work closely with all equipment manufacturers to keep up with new technology
