Location: Charlestown

Position

Full‑time Electro‑Mechanical Assembly Technician. Hourly, non‑exempt position at Newton Scientific, a subsidiary of Rigaku Corporation.

Hours:

Monday through Friday with flexible start and end times; optional overtime on evenings or weekends as required. Work apparel is casual.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
  • 3+ years of electro‑mechanical assembly or test experience; related experience in other fields considered.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, meters, function generators, etc. (preferred).
  • Experience with soldering—SMT and through‑hole (preferred).
  • Experience with adhesives, epoxy, RTV for encapsulation (preferred).
Responsibilities
  • Build, assemble, test, and verify electrical and/or mechanical units.
  • Perform precision assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies.
  • Communicate with team leads and managers regarding questions, production schedules, and inventory concerns.
  • Follow detailed written and verbal instructions, designs, and schematics to meet specifications.
  • Maintain accuracy while meeting production schedules.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly work area and equipment; manage packaging waste disposal, proper storage, and equipment usage.
  • Maintain documentation needed to perform duties.
