What We OfferThe Extrusion Operator operates and troubleshoots plant equipment, machines, and lines. You will receive training to perform daily activities associated with specialty film production. The starting pay for this role is $28.52 plus shift differential. This full‑time role includes competitive pay, annual bonus potential, generous paid time off, 401K with company match, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, and medical, dental, and vision coverage (no waiting period).
You will follow standard operating procedures and ensure that health, safety, and compliance are your highest priorities. This role allows you to learn more about plant operations and can open the door to career opportunities with increased responsibilities.
Major Responsibilities- Produce quality materials for customers
- Operate, maintain and shutdown production equipment (blender, resin dryer, 4.5 extruder, take‑off tower, die, slitter, trim winder and film winder)
- Startup and shutdown equipment including pre‑startup safety interlock review
- Keep machine fed with resin mixture by accurately calculating formulation, adding, blending, and drying batch resin components
- Observe and adjust process parameters to maintain proper product specifications
- Record process and product information, test samples, complete order paperwork
- Make quality judgments about film produced
- Maintain equipment, including teardown and reassembly of the extruder screw and die
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be willing to work a 12‑hour shift; positions are available on night shift (7pm‑7am)
- Must be able to routinely lift and carry up to 50lbs, climb stairs, lift and pull 10lbs in an overhead position, work in ambient room temperature of 100°F, and work safely around numerous hot surfaces and rotating equipment
- Experience in the extrusion of films
- 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
- Fork truck certification
- Hoisting and rigging experience
- Working knowledge of computers and SAP software
