Laser Operator - 2nd Shift

A precision manufacturer is seeking a focused, detail-driven Laser Operator to join its 2nd shift team. In this hands‑on role, you'll operate machinery safely, inspect substrates for quality and quantity, and make in‑spec adjustments that keep production moving.

Pay Rate of the Production Operator: $21.00 per hour, plus shift differential for a total of $22.75 per hour.

Schedule of the Production Operator: 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Every Friday off.

Responsibilities of the Production Operator:
  • Operate machines and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Accurately read, comprehend, and interpret instructions and drawings.
  • Inspect substrates for proper quantity and quality prior to processing.
  • Identify out-of-spec product and place it on hold.
  • Properly load and unload substrates in the machine.
  • Make adjustments to machinery as necessary, within process windows, to produce quality product.
  • Stay focused on producing the highest quality product to support overall company yield and on‑time‑delivery goals.
  • Perform 100% visual inspection of all parts before moving to the next operation.
  • Document production activities in the ERP system and various quality databases.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications of the Production Operator:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO
    9001 and industry specifications such as MIL Standard and/or IPC (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret dimensional drawings.
  • Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented and self‑motivated, with a strong sense of personal ownership and a team attitude.
  • Critical thinking ability, with the skill to use known inputs and outputs to achieve desired results.
