The Process Operator processes zircon through plasma, leach, and dry production methods. Responsibilities include material handling, process transfers, and completion of production documentation while maintaining safety, quality, and operational standards. The role is accountable for process performance and product quality. Attention to detail is essential.

Shift
: 3rd shift; M-F;10:48 PM – 6:48 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements.
- Ensure equipment is safe and operational before use.
- Safely operate production equipment, tools, and material-handling devices.
- Follow work orders, process sheets, and operating procedures.
- Load, unload, transfer, and process materials throughout production.
- Operate, monitor, clean, and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Collect product samples, package finished goods, and move materials to storage.
- Perform quality checks and monitor process conditions.
- Complete production logs and required documentation accurately.
- Identify, report, and help resolve process, equipment, or documentation issues.
- Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with coworkers and management to support safe, efficient operations.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Manufacturing experience, blueprint reading, intermediate math skills, proficiency with measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, tape measures), and basic computer skills – preferred
- Ability to become proficient and work independently within approximately 3 months. Adequate training will be provided.
Physical Demands
Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, hand dexterity, and communication. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required.
Visual Requirements
Requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment and occasional exposure to heat, fumes, and airborne dust. Noise levels are typically moderate.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Use of PPE may be required, including safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hats, respirators, and dust masks.
