Location: West Lebanon

Operating Room RN

The ASC Operating Room RN is directly responsible for performing the roles and responsibilities of the circulating and/or scrub nurse in the operating room. The RN will provide direct patient care in accordance with ASC policies and AORN standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining a safe surgical environment; fiscal stewardship of supplies, materials and resources; continuing education for self and new employees;

active involvement in quality and process improvement activities. The OR RN in the ASC is part of a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Practices consistently with applicable state nursing practice regulations, applicable ASC policies and procedures, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
  • Ensures proper equipment is available and ready for surgical cases.
  • Ensures safety measures including time out process, safe patient positioning, required surgical documentation, and surgical count process are appropriately performed.
  • Assists anesthesia and surgeon with needs of the patient.
  • Identifies opportunities for improved OR efficiencies.
  • Communicates with colleagues professionally, with commitment to maintaining a respectful workplace culture and a safe learning environment.
  • Complies with policies, procedures, and area-specific expectations related to maintaining a safe environment of care. Initiates reporting or action when needed to address safety concerns.
  • Complies with policies, procedures and area-specific expectations related to:
  • medication safety
  • patient identification and specimen labeling activities
  • documentation of patient information and patient care activities
  • dependability, attendance, and scheduling
  • Participates in staff meetings, required learning, attestation, competency, and training activities according to area-specific and organizational expectations. Independently monitors email and other communications as necessary to meet these expectations.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Required

Licensure/Certification s
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS Certificate required upon hire.
  • CNOR Certification Preferred
