About the RoleAt Spacious Skies Campgrounds, we believe every guest deserves more than a scenic place to stay—they deserve a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment from check-in to check-out.
Our Maintenance Associate plays a critical role in making that happen. You are responsible for keeping the campground’s buildings, amenities, infrastructure, and grounds operating smoothly and safely throughout the season.
This is more than a maintenance job—it’s a highly visible, guest‑facing role that blends technical skill with hospitality. You’ll work closely with the General Manager, Grounds and Maintenance Manager, Front Desk, and Housekeeping teams to ensure our property remains in top condition while delivering a positive guest experience.
Spacious Skies operates as a collective. While this role is based at one campground, opportunities may arise to support sister properties with projects or operational needs.
What You’ll DoCampground Maintenance & Groundskeeping- Perform routine building, amenity, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Execute electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and minor mechanical repairs.
- Safely operate groundskeeping and heavy equipment including mowers, tractors, chainsaws, and other machinery.
- Maintain clean and organized public areas, bathhouses, lodging units, and common spaces.
- Perform site clean‑up after check‑outs and assist with seasonal upkeep projects.
- Assist with honey‑wagon (vacuum truck) duties as scheduled or needed.
- Troubleshoot issues and determine effective repair or replacement solutions.
- Maintain organized inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Respond to guest maintenance needs promptly and professionally.
- Provide courteous, welcoming interactions while serving guests onsite.
- Partner with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and leadership to resolve operational issues.
- Support special projects and campground improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and campground policies.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in grounds, facility, or property maintenance (or equivalent experience).
- Prior campground, property, or mobile home community experience preferred.
- Experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, small engine repair, or landscaping preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and equipment repair.
- Ability to safely operate trucks, tractors, and other motorized vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds regularly.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- A team player who is willing to assist others and continue learning new skills.
You should be someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and approaches each day with a “see it, solve it, fix it” mindset.
Working Conditions &Physical Requirements
Work takes place across all areas of the campground, both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, windy, or humid conditions.
- Extensive walking or driving across the campground required.
- Frequent standing, bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to carry and safely use a variety of tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
