Overview

Position Summary: The QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials, components, or parts upon receipt from Suppliers (Internal and External) to ensure they meet all outlined quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect and dimensionally measure incoming parts against specification drawings, using precision tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming parts.
  • Bring all nonconforming parts to the Material Review Board (MRB), ultimately driving the matter to resolution.
  • Record nonconforming parts through NCMR’s. Collaborate with supplier through Supply Chain Management/Buyer, as well as the internal team to return parts via RMA, as required.
  • Maintain NCMR’s, including closing them upon resolution.
  • Communicate quality issues to Quality, Production, and Engineering teams.
  • Perform secondary count of materials and products received, as needed for parts received in Inspection.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (scrap reduction, process improvement).
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, as needed.
  • Perform other duties and assist the Quality Manager as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical Inspection Experience, with exposure to GD&T.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, technical specifications, product certifications, manufacturing planning and inspection procedures.
  • Has general understanding of industry and quality concepts and standards such as ISO, ASQ and NIST.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ethics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in business, or technical and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 years' experience in manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • On occasion, must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds at times.
