The Quality Inspector Level II is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical inspection skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support production teams while mentoring junior inspectors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform First Article, In-Process, and Final inspections on manufactured products
- Inspect parts using hand measurement tools, CMMs, optical comparators
, and other inspection equipment - Prepare inspection reports,
Certificates of Conformance
, and support FAI documentation - Inspect incoming materials and parts from outside/secondary processes for specification compliance
- Route inspected parts to secondary processes and coordinate timely release to Shipping
- Communicate inspection status, quality issues, and risks to Quality Leads and Project Managers
- Support production teams in compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 / ISO 13485 requirements
- Train and mentor less experienced inspectors on inspection techniques, procedures, and quality standards
- Participate in audits, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
- Follow established procedures and work instructions while identifying improvement opportunities
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gages
, and other precision measurement tools - Working knowledge of CMM inspection systems and optical comparators
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or ISO 13485 quality systems
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality-related software
- GD&T training certification from a recognized institution (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure
- Team-oriented with mentoring and collaboration capabilities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, kneel, and crouch throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as required
- Manual dexterity for handling inspection equipment and parts of varying sizes
- Visual acuity for close inspection, depth perception, and color differentiation
- Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, fumes, vibration, moving machinery, and airborne particles
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday |
