Research Assistant

The Research Assistant will work on underwater acoustic research projects under the direction of Professor Jennifer Miksis-Olds. This adjunct hourly staff research position is located in the Center for Acoustics Research and Education in UNH's Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space. The Research Assistant will support data acquisition, processing, and analysis of acoustic and environmental data to develop detailed temporal and spatial understanding of undersea soundscapes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform research as directed (e.g., detect and characterize the ocean's acoustic environment)
  • Support report writing as required
  • Maintain documentation of research and data infrastructure
  • Participate in UNH-industry collaboration as required

Minimum Acceptable

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Knowledge of passive and active acoustics, ocean sound dynamics, and environmental modeling

Compensation Pay Range:

$20/hour
