Counter Sales

Maine Oxy is a family‑owned industrial gas company in Belmont, NH, dedicated to providing high‑quality specialty gases to local veterinary, medical, brewing and welding sectors.

We are hiring a Counter Sales Representative for our retail store. This hands‑on role offers opportunities to advance and learn about the industrial gas & welding industry.

• Promote safety as Job #1
• Provide customers with product knowledge and technical expertise
• Troubleshoot and respond to technical problems posed by customers and branch personnel
• Assist in all phases of store operations
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely per company policies
• Act as Store Manager when absent
• Serve as primary in‑house contact for major customer base
• Offer special prices or discounts for selected accounts and negotiate payment terms
• Assist branch store sales staff in selling function and working up quotes
• Respond to customer complaints and resolve issues per policy
• Support outside sales staff
• Label stock, stock shelves, assemble machinery, conduct demonstrations, arrange displays
• Assist in maintaining a clean and neat store appearance
• Other duties as assigned

• Experience in welding and/or gas application
• Sales experience
• Knowledge of our industry and specialty products
• Ability to use handheld computer (Zebra System)

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Regularly required to see, speak, and hear
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, using hands; may stoop, kneel, or crouch
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus
• Occasional lifting of 25–75 lbs.

• Full‑time position (no seasonal layoffs)
• Monday‑Friday hours roughly 7:15 am–5:00 pm
