Pipefitter, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

The Pipefitter plays a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of various piping systems. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non‑exempt position.

• Bolt up and align flanged piping systems
• Install gaskets
• Layout various piping systems
• Bevel and groove ductile iron and steel pipe
• Weld process piping systems
• Cut and fabricate spool pieces
• Sweat/solder piping (non-potable water)
• Thread/cut pipe
• Glue and assemble plastic piping
• Cut/fuse and assemble PVDF piping
• Bevel, cut, fit associated with piping prior to welding
• Install small diameter tubing for instrumentation and controls
• Install prefabricated or pre-manufactured pipe supports including anchors

• High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience
• Minimum of 1‑3+ years of experience within the construction industry

• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team player with a positive attitude
• Hard working and motivated

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and safely maneuver around construction equipment and vehicles on an active site
• Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
• Ability to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, and reach on a regular basis
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Travel:

Methuen Construction has jobs throughout New England, and travel may be required, with occasional out-of-state and overnight travel. Company per diem policy will apply.
