Snow's Mountain Lift Operator

Location: Waterville Valley

Basic Function and Overview:
The Lift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mountain lifts and the guests who use them. Lift Operators spend their days helping guests, of all skill levels, load and unload from lifts, in an outdoor environment.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Perform daily pre-operation checks of the lift to ensure safe operation and sign documents certifying that these inspections are completed.

Operate the chairlift in a safe and responsible way, complying with all safety protocols and procedures.

Load guests onto the chair in a safe and responsible manner.

Load bikes onto the chair in a safe and responsible manner.

Maintain load and unload ramps and areas around all lift stations to ensure clean and safe work environments.

Identify and report any unusual problems or hazardous conditions to a supervisor to ensure the public’s safety.

Maintain knowledge of all policies, procedures, and rules regarding operating and riding a chair  aware of all safety components, policies, and procedures for the lift and be able to execute them correctly during daily shifts and in case of an emergency.

Evacuate guests from chairlifts as needed.

Must become familiar with the lift and trails.

Use all departmentally required PPE.Advise guests as needed in a courteous, respectful manner.

Strong work ethic and dependability.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Must always remain alert and attentive.

Attention to detail and quick reaction times are necessary.

Required

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be 18 years or older.

Previous experience operating a ski lift is preferred but not necessary.

Physical Demands:

Stand and walk on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces.
