CDL A Lowbed Driver – Heavy Equipment Hauling Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL (required)
- Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
- 2+ years CDL A driving experience
- Lowbed / lowboy hauling experience required
- Experience hauling heavy construction equipment (excavators, loaders, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of load securement and DOT regulations.
- Ability to operate equipment for loading/unloading (preferred).
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
CDL A Lowbed Driver – Heavy Equipment Hauling Preferred Background & Skills
- Background in construction or heavy equipment transportation.
- Familiarity with local routes and job site deliveries.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers.
CDL A Lowbed Driver – Heavy Equipment Hauling Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL A truck with lowboy/lowbed trailer in all weather conditions.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy construction equipment.
- Ensure equipment is properly tied down and secured, complying with all DOT regulations.
- Transport equipment to and from job sites within a 20–30 mile radius.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, equipment reports, and communicate with dispatch regarding schedules.
- Promptly report any mechanical or safety issues.
