The Storehouse Supervisor assists the Purchasing and Logistics Manager in managing the AMC's logistics operations based at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, and directly supervises the department's seasonal employees. Storehouse provides food, supplies, transportation, and other logistics needs for AMC operations including back country huts, roadside lodges, trails, shelters, and educational programs. The Storehouse Supervisor works closely with vendors and other AMC departments to ensure timely and efficient procurement of supplies, food, transportation needs, and general logistical support.
This position is also responsible for the general administration of the AMC's vehicle fleet including scheduling, maintenance, DOT and safety compliance, record keeping, and fleet planning. The Storehouse Supervisor is a problem-solving Jack/Jane-of-all-Trades who must be equally comfortable organizing vehicle schedules, creating & maintaining vendor relationships, performing manual labor and light mechanical work, and working with others in a professional manner.
This is a year-round, non-exempt position with excellent benefits.
GENERAL SUPERVISION:
The Storehouse Supervisor reports to the Purchasing and Logistics Manager.
What You'll Be Doing at AMC
- Training, direction, and supervision of seasonal employees that support AMC operations by supplying food, equipment, supplies, and transportation for AMC's various locations and programs.
- Assisting the P&L Manager with seasonal hiring, including application review and candidate interviews.
- Daily management of AMC's New Hampshire vehicle fleet of 25+ cars, trucks, vans, buses, and trailers, including scheduling, light mechanical maintenance, cleaning, snow removal, and coordinating maintenance with local vendors.
- Support AMC's extended fleet operations across the Northeast by managing accounts with local and regional vendors and ensuring facilities and programs have sufficient transportation resources and support.
- Work with vendors to schedule, deliver, and return rental vehicles to augment the AMC-owned fleet as required by different locations and departments.
- Provide driver training for AMC employees, including commercial motor vehicle training and follow-up workshops (winter driving, trailer training, etc.) as needed.
- Maintain accurate DOT records, including driver qualification files, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance records for all AMC locations.
- Provide consultation, training, and guidance to AMC vehicle managers and users at other locations as needed.
- Provide safe and efficient transportation for AMC guests and program participants.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations and the highest level of safety practices in fleet operations.
- Serve as Manager on Call to coordinate emergency breakdown response, including assessing vehicle condition and arranging towing and alternate transportation as required.
- Safely operate AMC's wheel loaders to assist in deliveries and plowing as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory of food and supplies.
- Place food and supply orders to ensure requisitions are filled efficiently and on time.
- Act as primary Storehouse airlift coordinator, including staging, staffing, field support, and safety orientation in concert with the Construction Crew Manager and Trails Airlift Manager.
- Manage appropriate safety practices and OSHA compliance for department staff at Pinkham and in the field.
- Assist in managing AMC's waste disposal and recycling efforts.
- Assume daily responsibilities of the Purchasing and Logistics Manager when absent.
- Represent Storehouse on the North Country Joint Loss Management Committee and ensure Storehouse SDS records are accurate and accessible.
- Process monthly interdepartmental charges for food and vehicle use.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
