Deliver and pick up parts and equipment for the dealership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
- Check with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
- Verify that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
- Verify parts on customer invoice match delivery.
- Check payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
- Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Obtain recipient’s signature on each delivery entry.
- Unload truck each night. Turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
- Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.
- Advise parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Ask customers at each stop if they have anything to return including any core inventory.
- Pull parts for delivery routes and load trucks/vans for deliveries.
- Assist with shipping/receiving as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge required.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively with customers or other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications
- Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification
- Valid Driver's License required; must meet company insurability standards
