Arnold Lumber Company, a fourth‑generation full‑service lumberyard headquartered in West Kingston, RI, serves local communities for over 110 years. Eight locations across Rhode Island provide quality building materials and outstanding customer service.

The Receiver will manage the intake of materials, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various team members.

• Material Receiving: Accurately receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of lumber and related materials, ensuring that quantities and quality meet specifications.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, including logging received materials in the inventory management system and reconciling discrepancies.
• Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections of incoming materials to identify defects or issues and coordinate with suppliers for returns or customer replacements.
• Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork for received materials, including packing slips, invoices, and quality assurance reports.
• Organization: Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring that materials are stored properly to prevent damage and facilitate easy access.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure timely processing and distribution of materials.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.

All other duties as assigned, including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform assigned tasks.

  Working Conditions:
  
  Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 80 lbs; stand, sit, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive lifting for 8 hours; ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts; climb stairs while carrying heavy objects; work in inclement weather conditions.
• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in a lumber yard or warehouse environment preferred; forklift certification is advantageous.
