Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking motivated and safety-oriented individuals to join our team as Shipping/Forklift Operators at our gypsum facility in Newington, NH and the offsite warehouse in Portsmouth, NH
. This position supports our operations team in continuous manufacturing of wallboard product, offering hands‑on work with a direct impact on product quality and community safety.

Compensation: Starts at $27.00 per hour and increases with experience.

Location: Work between the onsite gypsum facility and the off‑site warehouse.

Schedule:

  • Monday‑Friday; 8‑hour straight shifts
  • Hiring for multiple shifts—1st and 2nd (hours may vary)
  • Schedules may include some weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

What You Will Do:

  • Move product safely, accurately, and efficiently in the distribution and off‑site warehouses.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and wear the required personal protective equipment.
  • Operate forklifts for loading and off‑loading trailers and moving product within warehouses.
  • Tarp trucks at the off‑site warehouse using the overhead tarping system.
  • Perform daily pre‑operating safety inspections of mobile equipment.
  • Read product plots, identify and count products, and load material accurately.
  • Maintain a clean work area before, during, and after each shift.
  • Conduct quality checks and flag products that do not meet standards.
  • Communicate concerns to supervisors and collaborate with team members to meet daily and weekly loading goals.
  • Work with production team forklift drivers to maintain safe driving practices.
  • Operate forklift attachments such as forks, clamps, and pokey attachments as needed.
  • Use hand tools and equipment while handling product up to 50 pounds.
  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays as required to support both facilities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

  • At least 1 year of experience operating forklifts or other mobile equipment.

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Forklift Certification.
  • At least 3 years of shipping/distribution experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using computers or tablets for record‑keeping and documentation.
