Job Summary:A highly analytical, detail-oriented Senior Accountant is sought to support core accounting functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, managing month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards across multiple entities.
Responsibilities:- Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data
- Prepare, record, and review journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) to record, track, and validate financial transactions
- Reconcile subledger activity to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial models
- Conduct technical accounting research to support compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial analysis and support informed decision-making
- Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an operational or multi-entity environment
- Proficiency with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Acumatica, Net Suite, and Microsoft Business Central
- Strong understanding of GAAP, debits and credits, accrual accounting, and month-end close processes
- Hands‑on experience performing journal entries, account reconciliations, and close activities using Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
- Solid understanding of how subledger activity flows into the general ledger
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and large dataset analysis
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Experience in inventory‑driven, logistics, retail, or wholesale environments
- Experience reconciling data across multiple systems, including ERP platforms, WMS systems, banking portals, and Excel‑based models
- Willingness to be hands‑on and perform detailed transactional work, including data entry and data clean‑up when needed
- Curiosity and ability to learn accounting and operational processes from the ground up
- Demonstrated ability to improve reconciliations, close processes, documentation, or reporting accuracy
- Interest in automation, efficiency improvements, and expanded use of Excel and systems to support scalability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
