Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Greater New Haven County, CT
Schedule: Part-Time (approximately 20–25 hours per week)
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Compensation: $58,240–$66,560 annualized (prorated for a 20–25 hour/week schedule).
A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a detail‑oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to support its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a mission‑driven environment and is looking for a flexible part‑time schedule.
Responsibilities- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate vendor records and files
- Assist with expense reporting and credit card reconciliations
- Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly
- Support month‑end close activities related to accounts payable
- Assist with other accounting and administrative projects as needed
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization is a plus, but not required
