Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Controller to join our operation and serve as a key finance leader supporting day‑to‑day operations. This role functions as the right hand to the General Manager, combining deep accounting expertise with strong operational partnership across the property.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute month‑end close, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee full accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, income audit, and purchasing.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple revenue streams.
- Manage audit, compliance, tax‑related reporting, and internal control processes.
- Oversee cash flow, multi‑entity financial activity, and capital planning initiatives.
- Act as a finance business partner to operational leaders.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements across systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across financial systems and reporting platforms.
- 2‑3 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Prior experience as:
- Controller
- Assistant General Manager
- Direct hotel experience required.
- Deep understanding of operational workflows and their financial impact.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and business partnership mindset.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non‑finance teams.
- Hands‑on leadership style with a willingness to operate “in the weeds” while maintaining a strategic lens.
- Highly organized with strong execution, ownership, and follow‑through.
- Financial reporting is accurate, timely, and trusted—no surprises.
- Finance is actively driving business performance, not just reporting it.
- Strong, collaborative relationships exist across all departments.
- Accounting operations run smoothly with effective controls and processes.
- Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year.
- Bonus: ~10% performance‑based.
