Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, hands-on Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to serve as a key member of our finance team, partnering closely with the CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and scalable financial operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance, along with a proactive mindset and a passion for excellence. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Financial Statements:
Prepare, review, and analyze GAAP-compliant financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) within both manual, Excel-based frameworks and automated reporting environments. - Maintain general ledger to ensure data integrity and precision across all accounts.
- Work closely with our outside CPAs to prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits; prepare supporting documentation and audit schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Manage the preparation, filing, and compliance of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in financial operations.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to safeguard assets.
- Streamline accounting operations using advanced Excel, SQL-based reporting, and modern AI-driven tools to reduce manual entry and shorten close cycles.
- Active CPA license required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to both public accounting and industry
- Demonstrated experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting standards, primary focus on month-end close, general ledger, and GAAP compliance; tax experience is beneficial but not the primary emphasis of the role
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books) and strong expertise in spreadsheet analysis and reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills is a must
- Proven ability to adapt to proprietary software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven track record of managing competing priorities and meeting strict close deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the SaaS industry
- Familiarity with ERP systems or advanced Excel skills
- Exposure to compliance or audit processes
This role is required to work on site four days per week with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
The wage range for this role is $85,000 - $130,000 plus benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
