Senior Accountant

Robert Half has partnered with a respected nonprofit organization in New Haven, CT to identify an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract assignment. Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Monitor grant expenditures and assist with grant reporting requirements
• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Assist with audits and coordinate requests from external auditors
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial processes
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed
• Assist leadership with special projects and financial reporting requests
