OverviewThe Senior Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to academic departments, faculty, staff, and students. The role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting general office administration, faculty onboarding, event coordination, travel planning, and financial transaction processing.
Principal Responsibilities- General office administration and scheduling.
- Faculty onboarding and orientation.
- Event coordination and logistics.
- Travel planning and expense processing.
- Financial transaction processing and record keeping.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven administrative support skills, including complex calendaring, travel coordination, and financial transactions.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptability to new software systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with professional interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly developed customer service skills and confidentiality handling.
- Problem‑solving ability, initiative, follow‑through, and excellent attendance.
Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience in a research or academic environment, including coordinating travel, meetings, and conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with university policies and procedures, especially managing restricted funds such as endowments, gifts, and sponsored awards.
- Experience with databases, file‑sharing software, and multiple computer platforms.
- Knowledge of Workday or similar financial management systems.
