Job SummaryThe Scheduling Assistant ensures timely, accurate, and complete performance of all department clerical responsibilities and functions.
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or CertificationNone.
Work ExperienceMinimum 1 year of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Working knowledge of general medical office procedures and medical terminology.
- Effective skill in operating a computer.
- Sound interpersonal and oral communications skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective manner.
- Performs and completes department clerical responsibilities and functions.
- Answers, screens, and directs telephone calls and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Relays information to other staff members related to scheduling, as appropriate.
- Prepares correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other documents according to established protocols.
- Files documents, reports, and other correspondence according to established protocols.
Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
