Associate Strategic Sourcing Manager, IT

Position Overview

Reporting to the Sr. IT Strategic Sourcing Manager, the Associate Strategic Sourcing & Category Manager is responsible for long‑term planning, strategy development, and leading continuous improvement of assigned spend categories. The role focuses on developing and implementing innovative sourcing strategies to achieve high quality, cost savings, and risk reduction while improving service and value.

• Deliver and report cost savings and ensure contract compliance.
• Lead cross‑functional or multi‑departmental sourcing activities and manage the category management cycle for assigned categories.
• Develop category strategy playbooks, value‑definition models, and execution pipelines that align with stakeholder objectives.
• Consolidate supplier base, promote preferred suppliers, and manage supplier performance.
• Analyze market trends, contracts, and risk to support sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect requirements, conduct supplier management, and conduct regular category review meetings.
• Track and report category spend, savings, and performance with the Procurement COE.
• Provide expertise and guidance to buyers on category insights and strategy.
• Stay current on AI, market developments, and emerging procurement technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of RFI/RFP processes, negotiation, and contracting.
• Strong persuasion and stakeholder management skills to advocate procurement value.
• Ability to partner with internal customers to understand needs and deliver measurable value.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of purchasing/strategic sourcing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
