Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Bridge Construction Position Summary
We are partnering with a established, family‑owned heavy civil contractor founded in 1952 with ~900 employees. Key Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of heavy civil and bridge construction projects, ensuring alignment with contract documents, schedule, and budget
- Champion a safety‑first culture, ensuring full compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with estimating, engineering, and field teams to develop and maintain project schedules
- Manage project startup and documentation, including submittals, logs, budgets, and cost tracking
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, and change order management
- Coordinate daily operations with Superintendents to maintain productivity and project milestones
- Lead weekly project meetings and maintain strong communication with stakeholders
- Review and approve pay applications, subcontractor scopes, and project deliverables
- Support project closeout, including final documentation, punch list completion, and client turnover
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on bridge and infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and field operations on complex civil projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
- OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across diverse project teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced, field‑driven environment
