Wexler-Grant Community School seeks a passionate and innovative Middle School Science Teacher to join our team of educators committed to academic excellence, cultural relevance, and community empowerment.

At Wexler-Grant, science learning connects directly to our students' lives, their city, and the world-integrating real-world phenomena, local environmental issues, and community-based problem solving.

New Haven teachers are offered a variety of leadership development opportunities including but not limited to curriculum facilitator, teacher facilitator and the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute. Additional benefits include community support, special federal/state loan forgiveness, and home buyer programs. Salary contingent on degree and years of experience:

25-26 School Year: $51,421 - $104,297

Certification Requirements:

Must possess and maintain certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes:

Applicants must hold one of the following valid Connecticut teaching endorsements or demonstrate eligibility through the appropriate Praxis II pathway.

Middle School Science Endorsements (Grades 4-8):

* #230 Biology, Middle School
* #231 Chemistry, Middle School
* #232 Physics, Middle School
* #233 Earth Science, Middle School
* #234 General Science, Middle School
* #235 Integrated Science, Middle School

High School Science Endorsements (Grades 7-12) - may teach down to Grade 5:

* #030 Biology
* #031 Chemistry
* #032 Physics
* #033 Earth Science
* #034 General Science

Elementary Certification Pathway:

Educators with an elementary certification (endorsements #001, #002, #003, #004, #005, #006, #013, #113, #201, or #305) may also qualify for Middle School General Science (#234) by earning a passing score on the Praxis II Middle School Science test.
