Job Summary
We are seeking Certified Teachers to lead summer school classes. In this position, you will primarily work with students who have fallen behind in their academic level, which may require you to provide extra help or move at a slower pace. You must also ensure that your students are active and engaged throughout the length of the class. Our ideal applicant has prior experience working with students in a similar position.
You must also have at least a bachelor's degree in your field and a valid teaching license.
Summer Teacher Duties and
Responsibilities Include:
The following job duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the High School summer program as a certified teacher position, in addition to any duties that may be assigned by the building leads or program director for the duration of the program.
? Develop and submit weekly lesson plans
? Lead lectures and hands-on activities
? Assign homework and projects to help your students learn the material
? Administer quizzes and tests to measure their progress
? Provide extra help to your students when necessary
? Maintain all required data and record-keeping for summer programming, including a summative student work sample portfolio
? Monitor and record student attendance in Powerschool
? Determine and implement classroom management procedures and communicate documented student incidents to building leaders
? Effectively communicate with parents/guardians when necessary
? Administer assessments and maintain documentation of student progress
? Adhere to established laws, policies, rules and regulations, including those policies and procedures adopted by NHPS
? Be able to effectively use technology to deliver instruction, communicate with stakeholders and be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all staff and students.
? Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral communication skills and use effective, positive interpersonal skills
Summer Teacher Requirements and
Qualifications:
? At least a bachelor's degree in your field
? Valid teaching license (at least 7-12 in content area)
? Teaching experience (at least 2 years in the classroom)
? Strong communication and classroom management skills
? Ability to work on an accelerated schedule
? Flexibility to work with high needs students in a heterogeneous environment

Compensation:
Certified teachers: $35.00 per hour
