Position Summary

The College is seeking part-time non-credit lecturers who are passionate about inspiring and training the next generation of Manufacturing workers. Whether you’re recently retired, exploring a career change, or eager to share your expertise, CT State offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while earning a competitive wage. Experienced tradespersons with real-world insight are invited to teach students to meet the growing needs of industry.

Classes may be taught on ground and/or online.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach courses within the assigned discipline area in accordance with institutional standards
  • Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes
  • Provide student support, mentoring, and academic advising
  • Develop curriculum and periodically review and update instructional materials
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current industry certification in the field applied to
  • Related work experience in the field applied to
  • Ability to present curriculum in a classroom or lab environment
  • For Plumbing:
    Must be a P1 Plumber
  • For Welding:
    One (1) or more years of work experience in the field of welding
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Additional qualifications may be requested, as relevant to the academic department
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in workforce development, adult education, continuing education, or non-credit training programs, particularly in short-term certificate or credential-aligned programs
  • Experience designing or delivering customized training programs (onsite, online, or hybrid)
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and workforce needs
  • Two (2) or more years of practical experience in the field for which you are applying with an understanding of industry credentialing or licensure requirements
