Sales Training Specialist

Location:

New Haven, CT (Onsite) Duration: 6-month Contract to hire

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts on developing training materials, including manuals, PowerPoint presentations, job aids, checklists, and other educational materials.
  • Coordinates scheduling and preparation of training sessions.
  • Organizes and conducts webinars and online office hours to address inquiries from sales agents.
  • Delivers training programs in person and remotely using a variety of instructional methods, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
  • Evaluates customer service surveys and similar feedback to address sales agent training needs.
  • Collaborates with subject-matter experts to develop, improve, and document the work procedures that are used in conjunction with training programs.
  • Ensures procedures are accessible and accurate, and that changes are documented and communicated to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Designs learner assessments and conducts routine observations of sales agents during training periods.
  • Reports learner progress to supervisors and management.
  • Creates and implements development plans to address sales agent performance issues when applicable.
  • Conducts ongoing evaluation of training programs through surveys to determine effectiveness as measured against stated objectives.
  • Makes recommendations for change when evaluation indicates the need for improvement.
  • Travels to all sales conferences and training events and occasionally to sales offices across North America to facilitate training sessions.

Skills Qualifications

Required:

  • Proficient with MS Office programs & Canva
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of eApp, Smart Office, MS Dynamics
  • Education Required:

    Life insurance license
  • 3+ years of experience in sales with the life insurance industry
  • 3+ years of experience in training design and delivery for sales teams.
  • Training Program Development & Instructional Design, Sales Training & Performance Coaching, Learning Evaluation & Performance Assessment, Presentation & Public Speaking.
