Sales Training Specialist
Location:
New Haven, CT (Onsite) Duration: 6-month Contract to hire
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with subject matter experts on developing training materials, including manuals, PowerPoint presentations, job aids, checklists, and other educational materials.
- Coordinates scheduling and preparation of training sessions.
- Organizes and conducts webinars and online office hours to address inquiries from sales agents.
- Delivers training programs in person and remotely using a variety of instructional methods, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
- Evaluates customer service surveys and similar feedback to address sales agent training needs.
- Collaborates with subject-matter experts to develop, improve, and document the work procedures that are used in conjunction with training programs.
- Ensures procedures are accessible and accurate, and that changes are documented and communicated to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
- Designs learner assessments and conducts routine observations of sales agents during training periods.
- Reports learner progress to supervisors and management.
- Creates and implements development plans to address sales agent performance issues when applicable.
- Conducts ongoing evaluation of training programs through surveys to determine effectiveness as measured against stated objectives.
- Makes recommendations for change when evaluation indicates the need for improvement.
- Travels to all sales conferences and training events and occasionally to sales offices across North America to facilitate training sessions.
Skills Qualifications
Required:
- Proficient with MS Office programs & Canva
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Preferred:
- Knowledge of eApp, Smart Office, MS Dynamics
- Education Required:
Life insurance license - 3+ years of experience in sales with the life insurance industry
- 3+ years of experience in training design and delivery for sales teams.
- Training Program Development & Instructional Design, Sales Training & Performance Coaching, Learning Evaluation & Performance Assessment, Presentation & Public Speaking.
