Overview

Position Summary

The Technology Teacher/Integrator brings curiosity, creativity, and a spirit of exploration to every lesson. Working with classroom teachers and school leadership, this person designs experiences that help students think like makers, problem-solvers, and designers — not passive consumers of screens.

Our approach is intentional and developmentally grounded. For K–2, technology is introduced sparingly, with hands-on, physical making at the center. Grades 3–6 use digital tools more directly for authentic creation, collaboration, and inquiry. This role reports to the Administrative Team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field preferred
  • At least 3 years teaching elementary-age students (K–6)
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and the ability to teach ethical AI literacy, digital citizenship, and critical evaluation of digital content
  • Experience with project-based, hands-on, or maker-centered instruction
  • Comfort with physical computing tools (robotics, circuitry, coding platforms like Scratch) as well as traditional making materials
  • Ability to differentiate across a wide developmental range, including K–2 learners who engage with technology mainly through unplugged or physical activities
  • Strong classroom management and community-building skills
  • A collaborative spirit, strong presentation skills, and the ability to plan and lead professional learning with classroom teachers
Performance Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Design and teach K–6 innovation and technology experiences centered on curiosity, critical thinking, and student agency
  • Build a developmentally appropriate scope and sequence — limited screen use for K–2, with an emphasis on physical making, unplugged computational thinking, and hands-on engineering
  • Integrate digital tools, design thinking, and emerging technologies (including AI literacy) into authentic student projects
  • Guide students through iterative design: identifying problems, brainstorming, prototyping, testing, and revising

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with classroom teachers to connect technology, media literacy, and design work to ongoing units of study
  • Design and lead professional development and coaching for faculty on emerging technologies, AI workflows, and innovative pedagogy
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Help lead school-wide conversations on ethical, age-appropriate technology use, digital citizenship, and screen time

Culture & Community

  • Build a classroom culture where risk-taking is celebrated and every student sees themselves as a capable creator and critical thinker
  • Build relationships with students grounded in respect, high expectations, and genuine enthusiasm for their ideas
  • Communicate clearly and warmly with families about the program’s purpose and evolving approach

Operations & Administration

  • Keep the physical and digital learning space organized, safe, and reflective of students’ creative work
  • Track student growth through qualitative documentation, digital portfolios, and anecdotal observation
  • Manage shared equipment, hardware, and software subscriptions, and proactively communicate supply needs
Characteristics of Professional Excellence
  • Strive to live the school mission in word and deed.
  • Enthusiastically engage in service to the school and its community.
  • Model lifelong learning.
  • Foster an open and inclusive learning environment.

To be considered for the above-mentioned position, please send a cover letter, resume, and three references to employment. Please generate all documents in MS Word or a converted PDF file. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the position will remain open until filled.
