Overview
The Yale Law Library is seeking a 2026/recent graduate or early career professional holding both library and law degrees, or early-career professional, to build expertise in research and instructional services with an emphasis on scholarly communication. The Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian will participate in the law library’s highly regarded faculty liaison program and provide reference and research support to scholars and researchers.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Research and Scholarly Services, the Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian leads the law library’s support of faculty scholarship. Key responsibilities include supporting scholarly impact initiatives, assisting with the creation and maintenance of scholarly profiles (e.g., Hein, ORCID, SSRN), and supporting faculty use of submission platforms such as Scholastica.
As a member of the Research and Instructional Services team, the Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian participates in the faculty liaison program, staffs the reference desk, conducts research consultations, and contributes to the library’s instructional program. This position teaches in the ILaw/Small Groups program (first year legal research) and may also teach in upper-level credit-bearing research courses.
Principal ResponsibilitiesEducation and Experience
J.D. from an ABA-accredited institution and a Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school.
