Job Overview:
The Graduate Assistant for the Men's Basketball program works under the direction of the head coach and assists with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, counseling, and other administrative duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director.
Housing, Work Hours & Duties Athletics GA positions may include the option for on-campus housing as part of the tuition compensation package.
- GAs who chooses to live on campus are required to work up to 25 hours per week, reflecting additional responsibilities related to both Athletics and Residence Life.
- GAs who does not choose the housing option are required to work up to 20 hours per week, focusing primarily on Athletics-related responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with practice and game preparation including video breakdown. Assist in monitoring academic progress of team members in all areas. Assist with player development.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Enrollment:
Must be currently accepted in a Master program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas: - Accounting (only two spots available)
- Business Administration
- Criminal Justice
- Management and Organizational Leadership
- Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)
- Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in [Microsoft Office/Google Workspace]. - Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and/or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and/or coach.
- Knowledge of collegiate rules and a demonstrated compliance with said rules.
- Relevant work experience may be substituted to meet qualifications for the position.
