Role DescriptionThe Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in New Haven, CT, responsible for leading a classroom of young children in a structured yet engaging learning environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities, supporting social and emotional development, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom. The teacher will observe and document children’s progress, communicate regularly with families, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in curriculum and care.
Additional duties include managing daily routines, promoting positive behavior, and complying with all school policies and applicable regulations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to design and deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in Early Childhood Education and Kindergarten readiness to support foundational learning and school preparation.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or equivalent experience in a preschool or childcare setting.
- Understanding of child development, classroom management, and inclusive practices that support children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
