Open Rank Faculty Position in Accounting Job Description & Qualification

The Yale School of Management (SOM) is soliciting applications at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and tenured Professor) for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Accounting.

Qualifications

All positions require a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Accounting. Applicants with a Ph.D. in a field that is broadly related, such as Finance or Economics, will also be considered if they have a demonstrated interest in Accounting. Individuals who are currently ABD must be awarded their degree before December 31, 2027. The selected candidate is expected to conduct high-quality research in their area of study and teach and advise students in SOM’s Ph.D., master’s, and executive education programs.

Appointment terms

Positions are full-time and tenure-track and will be located at the Yale School of Management in New Haven, Connecticut. Appointments will be made for the 2027-28 academic year, beginning July 1, 2027. Individuals with little to no prior work experience in a full-time faculty position will be considered at the Assistant Professor rank, but more experienced applicants who have held a full-time ladder-track faculty role for a few years may be eligible for hire as Associate Professor (tenure-track) provided they meet the University’s qualifications for that rank.

A Full Professor position (with tenure) requires a minimum of five years of prior experience as a full-time ladder-track faculty member.
