Overview
Facilities and Campus Development is seeking a Campus Planner that would be assigned to a variety of portfolios and capital projects including Central Campus, Yale School of Medicine, Yale School of Public Health, and West Campus. The Campus Planner manages and leads a diverse team of third-party contracted registered professional Architects, Engineers, and Construction Management firms in the delivery of a portfolio of high-quality capital projects on time and on budget, with a high regard for job site safety.
Expected portfolios include 10-20 projects with a total value of $50 to $100 million. With both a project and program-level perspective, delivers the design and construction of assigned projects. Effectively manages and carries out assigned priorities by engaging with project stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction through successful building turnover to operations, consistent with the goals and priorities of the University and assigned team.
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of architectural planning, design, and construction processes. Solid technical knowledge of data collection, analysis, and interpretation for executive decision making (including ROI) and feasibility studies.
- Advanced team building skills. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to make effective presentations to inform key stakeholders. Must possess strong business analysis and negotiation skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, eBuilder, and construction scheduling software. Project cost management and experience with eBuilder, Procore, Unifier, and Bluebeam REVU preferred.
- Significant experience in the preparation of project budgets, design, and construction cost estimating and reconciliation, and the development of project schedules.
- Ability to process multiple assignments, set priorities, and lead third-party contracted teams to meet objectives.
Skills And Abilities
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
- Five years’ experience in project management for multiple project portfolios preferred.
- Previous experience with the design and construction of multiple-discipline research building programs preferred.
- LEED Accredited Professional preferred.
- Professional Engineering, Architectural or Project Management Professional Registration or Certification (P.E.; R.A., P.M.P.) Preferred.
